On May 23, 1960 God Blessed us with an Angel named Julia Mae Watkins, who was born in Charlotte North Carolina to the union of Elmer Watkins Sr. and Helen M. Watkins who raised Julia in Kansas City, Missouri and also proceeded her in death.

She accepted Christ at an early age and continued to be a great servant throughout her time on earth she received her education in Kansas City Missouri public schools.

She married early in life to Donald E. Finley Sr. to this union she had 2 children Donald E. Finley Jr. and Doniesha R. Finley. Julia Mae Finley worked at Research Medical Center for many of her years as a Health Administration Clerk.

Julia was a very outgoing, fun spirit woman of God. She loved shopping, sewing, singing, dancing, spending time with the kids, grandkids, also loved to Vacation with her husband in Branson and abroad.

Julia united with Spruce St. Matthew Baptist church in 1986 and throughout her service she was very active member in church as she served on the Usher Board for 20 plus years.

She believed in feeding the hearts bodies and souls of all who came in contact with her homemade cooking and a Bright Beautiful Smile. Julia has a special relationship with all her close friends, family and to know her was to Love her.

On June 4th, 2022 God called his precious daughter home where she shall rejoice with her grandmother Mary Freeman, mother Helen M. Watkins, father Elmer Watkins Sr., brother Edward Johnson, sister’s Cheryl West, Jerry Watkins, Annetta Locke and Mary Allen.

She leaves on to cherish her memories: husband Donald Finley Sr., son Donald Finley Jr. (Savanna), daughter Doniesha R. Finley, brother’s Elmer Watkins, Andre Watkins, Walter Watkins, Ronnie Watkins, Donnie Watkins, sister-n-law Karen Finley, brother-n-law’s Kenneth Thompson Sr. (Mary), Ricky Finley (Carolyn), (6) grandkid’s Ra’Mya Harris Finley, Donald Finley III, Taliah Ray, Tarron Ray Jr., Donnavan Finley, Sydni Finley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and close friends.
