Freddie Mae “Peaches” Cheirs, age 68, transitioned peacefully Sunday March 8, 2020. She was born August 26, 1951 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Mr. Earlean and Georgia Mae Nelson. She married her longtime friend and love, William Earl Cheirs of Hickman, Kentucky on August 25, 1977.
Freddie was passionate about her family and friends. She had a saying “Life is Good”. She admired the ability to be in the presence of her loved ones, preparing tasty meals, traveling to see different views and living her best life with attending every activity her children and grandchildren aspired to actively partake within.
For many years Freddie worked at various schools with the Kansas City Public School District through the LINC program as a Site Coordinator and Trainer. It suited her servant heart. She always stated she loved working with children and helping them explore new journeys through the educational system. Here, was where she retired from in 2017. Prior to her tenure with LINC, she managed various apartment complexes across the Missouri and Kansas Stateline. She Graduated High School from Rayen High School in Youngstown, Ohio and received her Associates Degree in Business Administration from Penn Valley in Kansas City, MO.
Her life was a living testimony of one of her favorite bible verses, Ephesian 4:32- “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgive one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” Freddie was a servant in the church. She was an impactful member of the usher board and worked closely with her sisters in the Mission Department at Spruce St. Matthew Baptist Church.
