On Thursday July 30, 2020 late in the night, with family by his side, Howard Lee Chase transitioned.
Howard Lee Chase “Chase” was born to the union of John Lawrence and Thretta (Mathew) Chase November 6, 1938. Howard was proceeded in death by his parents, five sisters, Norma Jean, Carol Ann, Shirley Jean, Jacqueline L., Vera Mae, three brothers John L., Joe and Cecil L. and two sons, Elijah “Bruce” and Robert “Big Bob Chase”.
Howard was educated in the Kansas City School System. He continued his education later graduating from Vatterott College with honors and as an Instructor of Plumbing. Early on in life he was employed by Jimmy’s & Mary’s Steak House. He was also employed by Universal Construction Co., for more than 20 years and later retiring from JE Dunn Construction Co.
Howard married Shirley Ruth Morris September 26, 1960. To this union four children were born, Howard, Robert, Zandra and Myra. Although this union ended, Howard and Shirley co-parented in raising their children into adulthood.
During Howard’s lifetime he loved to traveled. Howard was truly a family man. He loved family and friend gatherings, fishing, bowling or just at home playing chess with his children and grandchildren. He was the King.
Howard leaves to celebrate and cherish his memory; four sons Howard “Tookie” Chase, Kelly Chase, Howard “Duka” Chase and Howard Lee Chase III, all of Kansas City, MO, eight daughters Rita Hill, Zandra “Zee” Chase-Johnson, of Kansas City, MO, Myra Chase-Beasley, of Lee’s Summit, MO, Millette Pauley, Warnelia Paige of Los Angeles, CA, Javon Wright, Daneeka Warrior, Tierra Chase and Cierra Chase of Kansas City, MO and a host of grand, great-grand, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
