Louis Raymond Duplessis Jr. 72, passed June 8, 2019 was born November 25, 1946 in New Orleans, LA to the late Louis R. and Violet Duplessis Sr. He was educated through the Job Corps. His specialty was Forestry. He retired after 29 years of service with The Port of New Orleans, LA. as Foremen, Sheet Metal Roofer. Louis was baptized at Hill of Zion Baptist Church in 1985 and was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ.

Louis served Mount Nebo Bible Baptist Church in as an ordained deacon and provided leadership to the Culinary Arts Ministry. There he met the love of his life Diane and was united in marriage in October 28, 1989 by his brother, Pastor Charles W. Duplessis of Mt. Nebo. He worked with Diane in the Children’s Ministry.
After Katrina in 2005, Louis relocated to Kansas City, MO where he continued to serve the Lord at Second Missionary Baptist Church, as Deacon and in the Culinary Arts Ministry. His service also included membership in the SMBC Naphtali Tribe and co-leading the New Member’s Ministry. Louis greeted all with a smile and hug.
Louis is sadly missed by his wife, Diane; Children: Dweldon Higgins (Shaletha), Todd Higgins, Darnell McKInley, Danielle Alexander (Irvin), Tanisha McKinley, Cerrisa Reese, Malcolm Barnes, and Tamia Williams; Grandchildren: Dweldon Higgins, Sheldon Higgins, Shelby Higgins, Alexa Higgins, Chelsea Higgins, Desire McKinley, Darius McKinley, Simeon Reese, RonDeaja Craige, Bertina Reese, Kayla Alexander, Cayla Harris, Nivri Alexander; Great Grand Children: Naomi Craddock; Siblings: Barbara Duplessis, Ellen Duplessis, Elena Duplessis and Ronald Duplessis of Oakland, CA; Charles W. Duplessis (Thirawer) of New Orleans, LA and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, family members and loved ones. Louis was preceded in death by his parents and sister Brenda Powell.
