Judith Ann Warren (Judy) was born in Fort Madison, Iowa on September 3, 1942 to Homer Brooks, Sr. and Martha Beecham. She spent her childhood years in Fort Madison, Iowa. Judy also lived part of her young adult life in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was here that she met and married her first husband, Hugh Bradford. Years after their divorce, Judy relocated to Kansas City Missouri and was remarried to John Warren until their divorce in 2002.

While living in Kansas City, Judy was employed at General Motors Company, Vancom/Laidlaw Bus Company, Durham School Services, and Tykes and Tots Daycare. She enjoyed driving her school bus and was well-liked by her co-workers and students. Judy also loved her “daycare babies”. They brought much joy to her life that could be felt as she shared stories and memories about her daycare days.

Judy was always the LIFE of the party! She had a blast hanging out with her friends and family, especially the weekly card games with her “crew”. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were often amused and entertained by her lively, humorous, spunky, and gangsta’ personality. Judy was a very strong-willed and determined lady. She had a heart of gold that melted like butter when in the presence of her grandbabies. She took great pleasure in her ‘around the city’ outings with her grandson, Joe, who she often referred to as her “best friend”.

Judy was a sweet woman who was loved and adored by many. She leaves to cherish her memories: 6 daughters – Rhonda Bradford of Philadelphia, PA; Sheila Taylor, Mona Warren, and Yvonne Cook (Tony) all of Kansas City, MO; Carmen McGee and LaTanya Smith both of Dallas, TX; 4 sisters – Marilyn Nichols of Des Moines, IA; Carol Lawson of Carbondale, IL; Cheryl Richmond (Dorris) of Gig Harbor, WA and Marcia Brooks of Burlington, IA; 4 brothers – Homer Brooks, Jr. (Kathy) and Dennis Brooks both of Fort Madison, IA; George Brooks (Donna) of Mexico, MO and Mark Brooks of Alton, IL; 2 special nieces – Patricia Warren (Snap) and Mildred Anderson (Mil) both of Kansas City, MO. She also leaves to cherish her memories: 24 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Homer Brooks, Sr. and Martha Jane Beecham; step mother, Ozelia Pacheco; one brother, Rodney Brooks and son-in-law, Michael McGee, Sr.
