Raquel ‘Kelly’ Jeanene Green-Wilson 47 born on April 18, 1971, in Kansas City, MO to two loving parents, Larry Eugene Green (preceded her in death), and J. Carolyn Green. She was the baby sister of Eugene Dyvonne Green (preceded her death). Kelly attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church from birth, where she remained a devoted member for her entire life. She went to Dobbs Elementary, Irvin Jr. High, and Southeast High; and graduated from Hickman Mills High School in 1989. During her school years, Kelly excelled academically, while participating in the Steppers drill team, and singing with Kevin Bean and Company. As an adult, her dream was to serve people. With her dream coming true, Kelly worked for various companies as a Customer Service Representative in the Call Center and various other positions. Her last dream job was with the Lockton Company where she excelled greatly. As she continued to live her dreams out loud, Kelly’s passions were cooking, traveling, and family. Revealing her deep affection for those she loved, Kelly had a unique knack for buying the perfect gifts and cards – where undeniably she intentionally selected them with care.
On April 12, 1994, one of her most precious dreams became a reality with the birth of her angel Cymone. As a mother with a special needs child, Kelly was tried and tested, and she prevailed. As baby Cymone grew, Kelly went from carrying her lovingly in her arms, to tirelessly carrying her maturing daughter over her shoulders – determinedly baring her weight to ensure she felt loved, comforted and protected. When Cymone turned 16, Kelly begin receiving assistance from the Lives Without Limits organization. Living out another one of her dreams, Kelly married her Prince, Larry “June” Wilson, on July 7, 2018. Though they were newlyweds for only a short time, over their 10 years of dating, June speaks fondly of how Kelly made him a changed man, and how blessed he was to marry the woman he adored. Kelly’s story ended on December 27, 2018, where it almost appears that God made a phone call and summoned her home. Described by the ICU nurse, he explained, “She was no longer responsive, and suddenly the phone rang. Kelly slowly opened her eyes, looked to the heavens, and peacefully went home!
Kelly is survived by her mother, Carolyn Green, her Dream Prince, Larry C. Wilson, daughter Cymone Shaw, step-son Larry C. Wilson, III and his two children, Nanny Mae McCluney (aunt), James and Genetter Bradley (uncle/aunt), Sylvester Green (uncle), and aunts Judy Brownelli, Annette Bray, and Leola Green. She will also be missed by a host of family and friends, including her besties, Victor Coates, Deanna Barela, Michelle Goudeau, Paschell Carr, Sherita Freeman, Stephanie Hill, Theresa McCluney, and Toshia Williams..
