
Obituary for Lakisha Djuane Cravens
Lakisha Djuane Cravens went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 28, 2023. Lakisha *Kisha* was born on August 31, 1974 at General Hospital #2 in Kansas City, Missouri to Doris Cravens and Rodney Cheadle. She was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri district. She attended Van Horn High School where she participated in many organizations, sports and activities. Kisha was a member of the Debate Club, choir, basketball and track. She graduated from Texarkana High School in Texarkana, Arkansas. Kisha went on a full ride Track and Field scholarship to attend the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) and later transferred to Texas Women*s University (TWU) in Denton Texas were she completed her Bachelors* degree with a major in Business Administration and minor in Education. She pledged Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Chi Delta Chapter. Kisha began her working career as a Branch Manager for Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Arlington, Texas and later went on to become a Physical Education Teacher at the Academy of Kansas City Charter School during that time she coached basketball, volleyball and flag football within the community. She was a project manager and later began her entrepreneurial career in various industries. She remained a business woman and passionate entrepreneur throughout her life. Kisha was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and a proud Kansas City Chiefs season ticket member. She rarely missed a home game. She enjoyed tailgaiting and attending many of the games with her best friend, Tonya Smith. She was also a member of the "KC Coolers" Line Dancers. Kisha loved her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with them even up to her passing she was diligent about staying in contact with them often showering them with gifts and words of encouragement. One of her favorite places was Las Vegas and the casinos. She enjoyed traveling and having family get togethers and considered herself a "Grill Master". She dominated in playing dominoes and spades, and everyone enjoyed her bar BQ and cooking. Kisha was the eldest of her Mother's three daughters and eldest of her Father's children. She leaves to cherish her memories Mother, Doris Cravens-Rayfield, Step-Father, Rev. Larry Rayfield (Tina), whom she affectionately called "Daddy" (Tina), two sisters, Chanel Rayfield and LaTrina Grigsby (Jay), two brothers, Rodney Cheadle and Jalen Cheadle, Nieces, Chandi, Jendaya, Deonna, Jaela, and nephew Jordan "Prince Jordan", and godsons James and MJ, Angelica "Jelly" Gunn (Caleb), who was like a daughter and she was affectionately known as "GiGi" to their children Aakayla, CJ and Aubree, and a host of much loved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. She is preceded in death by her Father Rodney Cheadle, Grandparents Dorothy Cravens, Elmer Cheadle, Beverly Cheadle, Freddie Rayfield and Laura Rayfield. Services for LaKisha Cravens will be held on Saturday May 6, 2023 at 1:00 pm, Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 3635 Brooklyn, Kansas City 64109
