Rose Marie Martin-Williams, 55, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018. Rose was born on December 15, 1962, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the daughter of George Martin and Dorothy Jean Martin, both who preceded her in death. Rose was one of six siblings, three of which proceeded her in death; one brother, William Sykes and two sisters Joyce Hampton and LaTonya Lee. Her mother was a devout Christian woman, and due to her teachings in the home, Rose accepted Christ at an early age. She attended church on a regular basis as a child and young adult and later as her health would allow. As a teenager, Rose relocated to Northern California with her mother and siblings. Rose was educated in the Silicon Valley Public School System, where she graduated from Seaside High School, in Seaside, California in 1981. Shortly after graduating from high school, Rose attended Monterey Peninsula Junior College. It was also in California, that she gave birth to her five beautiful children, Tanya Williams-Booth, Tanisha Williams, twins; Maurice Smith & Patrice Smith, and Natasha Maxwell.
Rose had a love for people and several of her jobs were directly related to helping others. Throughout her working career she worked in various industries and in multiple capacities such as a Military Cook, a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Computer Chip Tester. Those who crossed Rose’s path were directly affected by her loving spirit, her motherly instincts, giving attitude, her love for cooking, her green thumb, her laughter and her beautiful smile. Her closest family members will remember her as someone who always put family first and that she was loyal to her family and friends. To the end, she held a smile! Rose was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, four daughters Tonya Williams-Booth (Heather) of Kansas City, MO, Tanisha Williams, of Raytown, MO, Patrice Smith, and Natasha Maxwell both of Kansas City, MO; one son Maurice Smith of Henderson, Kentucky; one sister Rachel Tigue of Durham, North Carolina; and one brother Phillip Martin (Monica) of Raytown, MO, several grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, step-children, family and friends.
